THE BAD: I think it sets the child up for a terrible time in school. You know how kids can be so mean and what they will refer his name as. Also, at Easter it will be another song about his name, Peter Cottontail.
THE GOOD: It was good enough for Spiderman and a disciple.
There is nothing wrong with the name, Peter, the problem is the way kids perceive it and use it against someone.

Do you mean Peter as a given or as a surname?
There is Dr. Laurence Peter, author of The Peter Principle and his name sounds fine to me.

In my opinion it is a okay name. I think it depends on what a person looks like to pick their name. So when I have a baby I will just pick the name when I see him or her! Maybe it sounds weird but that is what I think!

Mixed feelings: I have a brother-in-law named Peter who has several degrees and worked for the government in a high-level position. (I'm jealous!)
Jesus chose Peter to head his Church on earth . . . WOW!

this name sucks, its common. its a commonplace name. anyone is called Peter, everyone is called Peter. there are millions of Peter!

nothing bad about that, though i will not name my child that if i ever have any...
my dad's name is Peter and he's a great dad but not that good a husband... remember there's nothing wrong with names--it's your personality that counts! :)
