Black people are mean, African Americans are less mean, Africans are nice. The reason Black people and African Americans are mean, is because they live in America. America is the rudest, laziest country I've ever lived in, not to mention the only one.

I'm an African American and I think I'm a very nice person...always laughing & generous...well except on the a female's time of the month (ladies you know what I'm getting at).
I think the reason some African Americans are mean is because our parents & grandparents had drilled in our heads that we as a people were oppressed in this country and that makes some of us have a chip on our shoulder and because we have no sense of who we are as a people. As for the Africans, I can't really speak on their behalf.

My experience is that many African American (not all) in the cities tend to be more aggressive in their attitude to other people and belligerent (especially women). But as you go father away from the cities they tend to be nicer, and a lot of the African Americans in the south, specially the Christians are super nice. That is not just the case with African American, many whites in the cities (e.g. New York) are also nasty in comparison to their counterparts in the Midwest. Africans as any immigrants tend to be more grateful of being here in general, and tend to be nicer in general

Your the acception! They don't seem to like African Americans very much!. Believe it or not,but the average "African" seems to prefer to befriend "Caucasians". There are many Africans (mostly Nigerians),who live where I live. They see people like me as "Below Average",because they have been subjected to the Stereotypical ways of "Black America". They think that we are nothing more than: Drug Dealers,Thugs, and Murders. Music and Media has portrayed us as being "Common Hoods or Stuck-on-Stupid". (Young Man!) It doesn't matter what "Ship you came in on",we all landed in "America",which is suppose to be the "Land of Opportunity". If for some reason, you are being "Picked on or Bullied" by your "Black Brothers and Sisters",then I suggest you move out of the City and into "The Burbs". Maybe you'll find decent people of all nationalities, who can deal with your likes and dislikes.

I'm sorry that you had to run into a few bad people--not all African Americans are predisposed to hostility--however--I would say not to reflect any ones ignorance and definitely not associate rudeness with color--we all have our days and it's even worse when you think someone is judging you based on someone elses social insensitivity--be the better person and be an example of peace...trust me--it goes around and returns a blessing...have a good one...

Maybe African-Americans from your area may be mean, but please don't generalize. If you feel that the Africans you have encountered are nice it's probably because, and take it from someone with a father from Egypt, a mother from Uganda & who was born in Kenya, we are a socially reserved people. Loud & aggressive just aren't things we approve of.

The immigrants I have known have seemed nicer because they had wanted to live here; usually their being here was the result of hard work on their part and being here is the pay off.
It's similair to how new US citizens know more about the government, and vote more often than natives to the country.
I bet the Africans you've met are nicer than native whites, Asians, and any other group you can find.

They're quieter. I think it's individual, not grouped, everyone is different. People don't act a certain way because of their race, nationality. I've worked with Africans and they don't really even speak. They didn't say hi. It depends on the person.
