J.K. Rowling is an incredibly detailed writer. I'm not even that big a fan of the Harry Potter books, but I'll give her that. She intertwines main plot lines and sub-plots with incredibly adept skill.

J.K. Rowling is getting credit for mediocre books that stole all their ideas from other people. Think "prep schools for wizards" is unique? Try reading some older books by Feist and others. Damn even the name Harry Potter comes from a fantasy-ish movie from the 80s called Trolls, I believe.
