PFR was founded in 1989 as the Joel Hanson Band by Joel Hanson, who was a camp counselor at Camp Shamineau, a Christian youth camp in Minnesota. In 1991, the band, now known as Inside Out, was signed to Brown Bannister's newly founded Vireo Records. After signing, Patrick Andrew suggested the band change the name to "Pray For Rain" after a line from a poem

I have a question for you. How, if you felt that you had to explain that PFR was a christian band, did you think that anyone would have an answer when they don't even know about the band? In response to your question. Check proverbs, always check proverbs. Lots of commercial friendly stuff for the christian subculture in the book of proverbs. I don't know if that's the answer but it's always the first place to look.
