Not hardly, Christmas seems to no longer be about the true reason for the season. If your decorations are religiously motivated such as a nativity scene, then yes. But if you have snow men, Santa, reindeer, then no.

Decorating has nothing to do with Christianity. It has to do with the spirit of Christmas. I decorate the outside of my house wildly. Most of the things are yard art and lots of coloured lights. The yard art is made of wood and hand painted by me for children to see and enjoy. The purpose of decorating is to bring joy to others and that is the reason I do it. I personally love to drive around and see the decorations of others.

No. My mother is a lapsed Catholic, but LOVES Christmas. My parents always have one of the most decorated houses on the block. And the inside of the house is worst.

People who put up too many Christmas Decorations, are just trying to "outdo" the neighbors. They put their house on display, and hoping others will drive-by and say things like: "Oooh look at that one!". Then they probably sit back and complain about the high utility bills.

Conservatively Christian? That is a new label I never heard of.

I don't know what you mean. Every time I see an overdecorated house, I think of all that wasted money that could have gone to feed starving children. What would Jesus have done?

Sure. Maybe they have children who like lights or their parents did it.
