Even though he does not have a favorite squeaky toy, use one anyways. To some ferrets the sound resembles a young ferret in distress, well, some sqeakies do and maybe you get lucky.
Also use anything like bells and rattles, but not so loud that it gets scary. I sure hope he didn't get outside.
Rule #1 when owning a ferret is FERRET PROOFING. You have to make sure that there are no places for him to get into the walls, outside or into trouble. There shouldn't be any things he can chew on that would give him a bowel blockage or things he can get trapped in or under, like a bathroom cabinet. So, your best bet is to only ferret proof one room and keep him in THAT room. Please educate yourself on what it takes to keep ferrets. They are a lot of work, but worth it. I really really hope you find him soon. Leave food and water out in bowls all over the house because he should not go longer than 1/4 to 1/2 of a day without eating. Ferrets have fast metabolisms and can get into trouble if they don't eat frequently. Put food everywhere and just sit back and listen. You should hear him munching soon.

You shouldn't give up but know that if a ferret has no food supply that they can get to or have eaten, they will most likely die in 3 days. Since ferrets digest food so fast they need it fast also and cannot survive long without it. Good luck!

Go to PetsMart and buy a bottle of "Linatone"...it's an oily product that smells wonderful to ferrety ones, if you squirt a little on some dry cat food and leave it in the middle of the room your ferret wil soon come out. Probably just hiding under something.
We had ferrets in an apartment a long time ago, and they would vanish for several days at a time, only to appear in the back of a kitchen drawer or the linen closet or the shoe hamper...
He'll be back!
Best wishes...

From personal experience (owner of 2 ferrets), a squeaker toy is the best way to get a ferret out of hiding. When I originally heard about using squeaker toys to get a ferret to come to you, I was under the impression that you would have to train the ferret to do this. I was wrong. I bought a squeaker toy & the first time I tried it, my lost little fuzzbutt came running to the sound. I now own 5 squeakers just in case (they also love playing with them). Also, I would advise purschaing a bell collar for your ferret. The only time I haven't been able to find them by listening for the bell, they were asleep somewhere.
These are my ferrets favorite squeak toys:

Try the sqeaker anyhow...he may come if hungry I hope. Also if he likes treats, shake the can of treats. Do all of that everywhere around the house. If you have any ferretone or hairball remedy, try placing about one inch of it at certain points around the house. The smell of it alone should bring him out of hiding, and then keep checking those places. Good luck and I hope you find him.

When our ferret was lost, we used to lure her out by shaking the box of her food. She associated the sound with being fed, so she would come running to eat. She was also fond of sneaking sips of people's soda, so stirring ice around in a glass of liquid would get her to come out. Clicking your tounge or making kissy noises might help, too.

listen to the walls I know it sounds crazy but if you can't find him in the open anywhere he just might have gotten into the walls somehow. This happened to me when I was little with a hamster and we found him safe and sound

My ex used to have one, and his liked to hide under covers so watch where you sit. Try to be patient and search and then if you can eliminate certain rooms, close them off.
