I think this is cheating. But I don't really care, they can do whatever they want. It was always possible to cheat, even without Y! answers, even before the internet was around. What these people are achieving is never learning how to write an essay. They don't realize that writing skill is important life skill. Too bad for them.

YES!!! I am tired of it and I agree with Snowflake that these students are missing out on acquiring a "life skill". And what's up with their teachers allowing this?
You can call it "cheating" or "tapping the global intelligence" or "research" but I consider it "PLAGIARISM".
Plus, I'm really annoyed that the Internet didn't even exist when I was a student so I couldn't cheat this way as well.
I'm just a sorehead, I guess...grumble, grumble.

Oh ... don't get me started!!! If people simply igonored the homework questions, the cheats would HAVE to google their own answers.
There are, however, two things annoy me even more than obvious homework cheats. They are:
1) People so desperate to increase their point level that they're willing to aid and abet the cheats by doing their homework for them.
2) Answerers so desperate to get points they tell the question-asker what they WANT to hear rather than being honest. Recent example went something like this:
Question: "i wan't to b a pruf-reeder. pleez tel me if yu thik will i suckseed?"
All those who politely pointed out it required some level of education were spurned, and the best answer said something like:
"You are a writer's dream; I am an author and I would love you to proof read my next novel."
Pardon me whilst I vomit!

They can do whatever they want, alright, but it's one of those things that chips away at the value of yahoo answers as a place for adults with serious questions. I add the sorts of questions you're talking about to the useless pile, along with joke posts, troll posts, moneymaking site spam, dumb poll questions like "McD's or BK??" etc.
And this doesn't even touch on the fact that it takes no more energy to key "Edgar Allan Poe" into google search, than to come here and type "Tell me all you know about Edgar Allan Poe, and fast."

I would agree there is a degree of frustration. I know some think they are doing good by giving you "superior knowledge". The issue I have is I want you to put it in laymen's terms. If you have a link to further support your answer, that is even better. However, I want to hear it in your words or the closest likeness of such.

After a while on here you can pretty easily pick out the "do-my-homework-for-me" questions. Now, if it's clearly looking for public opinion, that's fine. Otherwise, I'll go look at a few sites that might help them and give them the links, they can do the research....I will only GUIDE.
