Hmm... Probably the year I bought by brother this virtual-reality ninja fighting thing for like, $36... I know, it's not all that expensive... I always try to buy my friends and family cheap, yet nice presents :)

I just bought my brother a $200 hedgehog! (as a pet) Why are they so expensive?!
I'd say the most I ever spent is putting the DVD player in our truck for my husband. It was $700, but that was kind of a whole family present....

My parents payed for my tuition to a really nice language camp...An outrageously priced camp - $2,500. It was also my present for my next two birthdays...
