Ignorant people parrot others instead of using the brain that God, our Divine Creator gave them. They choose to be ignorant, gay & lesbians don't choose to be gay, they do however choose if they accept themselves or if they try to play the straight game, drag an innoncent person/partner into a relationship experiment hoping that the heterosexual tradition will cure them.
These days more people skip the hurting of innocent people, accept themselves and go forward. Yeah, it comes with tribulations, but at least they are honest.
Gay & lesbians can > marry < in any state they choose. The covenant they make with each other and God is not controlled by the laws of man. They just don't get the privileges that man has designated for married couples. There fore, protect "marriage" is not in the hands of man. I've personally never seen a divorce granted on grounds of any same gender relationship that ruined "marriage".

I always assume that those people are really gay (or bi) but just subpress their feelings on the matter.
So when I hear people say that I think they are really saying "hey I can pretend to be straight so can every other gay person"
or they might just be fallowing the advice of some who is doing that.

You're right. I answered 1 Q from a lady who couldn't understand why gays wanted marriage rights & I told her to think of it like the law was telling her that she couldn't marry the man of her dreams. Just like she can't understand how 2 people of the same sex can fall in love I'm sure alot of gay people can't understand why someone would love someone of a different sex. We should just respect each others feelings

I personally think that when someone responds like that they are either (a) really ignorant (just plain ole have no clue) or (b) in denial about some things themselves.
What if you don't want to change? Why are they telling you this in the first place? What difference does it make? Again, seems like that person is insecure about something, something maybe he or she might want to examine.
Just my opinion. Wishing you all the best. :)

Obviously you are upset and it is unfortunate people are rude and ignorant. When that happens to me I think: Opinions are like feet everyone has a few and some of them stink.

Because they are what they are...straight and they don't understand another or alternative lifestyle...we, as gays, can't/shouldn't judge them for being straight...it's just what they are..as they should not judge us...unfortunately the world has not progressed that far yet...

OK. When someones mind is made up, they are unconsciously accepting that they don't want to change.

my Uncle was gay, then he started to go to church and within a few weeks said he saw how wrong it was, and changed, he was gay for 15 years at that point. now he's been married to a woman for 10 years with 3 children and he's a preacher. He said that he changed through the strength of Jesus.

My response to them is they don't have to be jealous, they can "change" just as easily as I can.
