The first thing is find a real good divorce lawyer then make it very clear that you want a divorce to your hubby.
If you feel threatened by this person get a protection from abuse order written up by your local judge. Then you go into the separation/negation period. Good luck and kick his butt!!

Generally speaking, the first thing you have to do is separate from your partner. In many countries, you have to prove that the marriage can't be saved before you can get a divorce - and to prove that, you have to live apart for a certain length of time. In some American states, that time is only a few weeks or months. In Australia, it's two years.

well if you have been married less then a year you can get an annulment, and if longer then you can go talk to a lawyer, to see how much its going to cost, each lawyer is different in cost. Good luck
