This is a blood boiling subject to be sure--I make a living by taking care of retired horses and they get the best of care --I have been told by others that they think its a different job--allot of people just get rid of the old and unwanted when what did the animal have to do with just aging?? Don't we all?? But to the subject in hand --holding a person responsible for intently hurting or killing an animal ABSOLUTELY !!!! I understand that the jails are so full of so many other criminals but there should be a way to make an impact on these horrible people--the only relief I get is that they will have to answer to God one day and I so know that if the sentence here on earth wont come close to burning in Hell FOREVER --You just don't get away with these acts of hatred and not have to pay for it one day --

Yes. Unequivicably, yes. The maximum penalty for animal abuse is 7 years in prison. That is the absolute maximum. Where is the justice? People can torture and then kill an animal and the maximum penalty is 7 years? And depending on the judge they get, they may not even serve any time because so many people think that animals don't matter. Most people who intentionally harm animals are only practicing for the real deal. Statistics show that people who harm animals are far more likely to kill another human being or two. If we can get them on the animal charges to begin with, they may never get around to humans.

I so agree... I think laws everywhere are too lenient as far as pets rights are concerned. Regardless of whether its a squirrel a dog or a HUMAN the law should be the same.. if you physically hurt another being you should be punished to the fullest extent! But thats my take and if I ever caught someone hurting an animal I'd step up and call them out and probably report them making sure they were fully prosecuted. its easy to say you care than actually show it. Get involved in your community and see what you can do to make a difference!

Well if the animal is mean like biting people and stuff then no they shouldn't be in trouble, but then again yes they should. If it isn't mean and biting people and stuff then YEAH they should be in alot of trouble. I love animals, I think it is wrong to kill an animal. So yeah I definitely don't want people to kill the animal. I think they should get in trouble too. I think that is mean to take away from little kids.

After volunteering for a local animal shelter for over seven years, I can say the stories are horrendous and appalling...maybe do to the person something similar to what they did, or make them wear a sign stating their crime, watch them try to maintain a normal life amongst all of us animal lovers even for one day

Yes laws should be more strict. They are animals just like us and need a fair shot at life.

Sir.. Our regulation equipment isn't so violent... Punishment is basically to perfect the blunders..! yet killing of toddler ladies and the different one you have pronounced is relatively a severe violence..! So it will be punished by severe approach...! Have a good day :)

Stronger penalties for all crimes are in order, whether the crime is for hurting people or animals. People that hurt animals have no souls and won't think twice about hurting people.

Most definitely.
For one, cruelty to a living thing is cruelty, whether it's human or non-human animal.
Secondly, mistreatment of non-human animals often leads to mistreatment of humans as well.
