Olivier is grand. And my favorite actor of all time. But, Gibson's Hamlet is the best only because he made Hamlet for the masses. It no longer became this play no one could understand , but a movie about loss, betrayal, and revenge. I have a Masters Degree in Shakespearean studies - so I have seen them all. The Bard would have been happy, after all, he wrote for the masses way back than.

I'd have to say Mel Gibson. I thought he brought a realism to the role that I've never seen from any of the others. That and the fact that it was directed by Franco Zefferelli who does the best cinematic interpretations of Shakespeare, makes this version a classic.

a good extra perfect question is "Is Hamlet 19 or 33?" both questions don't have any answer, it truly is totally controversial, and the international will by no skill understand! My own opinion? he's not loopy, he only had moments of momentary insanity interior the hunt to get over his father's lack of life and are available to words at the same time with his life.

Mel Gibson because he is an awesome actor and a good looking one too...just love those blue eyes and Austrailian accent...yum...Its not just his looks that Im totally into, I just love his acting. Its so real, and you can tell he really enjoys it as well. Hes not just in it for the money and fame like most actors.

Mark Rylance at The Globe, he made me care about the los of his father more than I thought. He made me feel angry that his mother had married so quickly after the death. I know the play well but for the first time I felt anger towards the mother for not putting her son first.
