I don't believe in them but going out with your bff's ex is not the smartest thing to do in my opinion and if she is bringing up the 'code' then she obviously doesnt want you to go out with him so you shouldn't unless you think a guy is more important than your bff

well girl codes are not that crazy but if u like him and he really likes u and I think u should break the girl code and if ur friend is a true and trustful friend she'd let u go out with him ...since she even said she's over him

I ended up married to my best friend's ex-boyfriend, almost 16 years ago. She forgave me after I told her I was seeing him; eventually I set her up with his brother, they were married less than a year later. We are still best friends!
Forget the girl code, love is love. Real friends are forever no matter what.

Follow the girl codes. You don't EVER under any circumstances date your best friend's ex or your best friend's brother. Those can both end up ruining your relationship.

There's no "girl code" to speak of. But if your girl has any residual feelings over her ex they will come up once you start dating him.

Well, if you want to lose her friendship, then date him.
If it was just a crush between them, then I would say she's making a big deal out of nothing.
However, if there has been kissing or more, then I would never go out with that guy, because you will hurt your friend's feelings.
