I want to give book narration a try. Does anyone know where I can find information on becoming a narrator?

I want to be the person reading the books for the book on tape programs.

Does anyone know how I can become the reader for such programs?

Generally (in the UK), the RNIB only employ actors for reading books. You can, however, be a volunteer for recording the newspapers and magazine, which is excellent experience.

There is a site here which I've thought of trying:
http://librivox.org/
It's a free site and you can volunteer, but there's no payment.

Good luck!

If you can find an organisation similiar to the CNIB (Canadian National Institute for the Blind) near you, ask them if they have a programme where you can read books to put on tape. I have a friend who helps out volunteering and not only has she had the opportunity to read material to put onto tape (or in some cases CDs), she has had the opportunity to learn the steps that goes towards putting these materials together. It's a very rewarding environment.

In a book, the narrator is the person telling the story. What do you mean? Are you writing a book? Or do you mean recording?
