the operating system. Some things are more compatible with a mac, some are more compatible with a PC. I love PCs, but I've never had a mac. For some reason, I just hate all things Apple. I dislike their computers, Ipods, and any other software made by them. I don't really know why though, since I don't have a good reason.

There are a few big differences between the two. The operating system is really not one of them, if you know windows or mac OS X it only takes a few minutes to poke around to get the basics down. One big advantage that PC's have over the MAC world is there ability to be upgraded. Which is the main reason you see net geeks and gamers 90% of the time on PC's cause as there needs change with the programs there using the computer power/graphics must change with them. I have both a PC and a MAC. PC I use because its my job to be a geek and must contantly keep upgrading to keep up with current technology. And then I have my MAC for web design and music, which if you ask me MAC makes the best for "at home" musicians or web/graphic design/animation programs. I guess it all depends on what you are looking for as a consumer. Gamers, Networkers, Power hungry geeks, OR just people looking for a computer to surf the web are better with a PC (PC's are WAY more cheap than a MAC). If your a musician, web designer, total free spirit who likes the "artsy" parts I would go with a MAC. Hope that helps.
P.S. I dont say nerd or geek to be an insult rather a compliment :) cause I do consider myself one!

Right now Apple can run both Apple Operating System & Windows operating system. If you see the website Apple now has Intel Core 2 Duo in their new MacBook. I know the Tiger OS and Apple processors are good but I don't understand why Apple is having PC components inside. It's so dissappointing. I used to love Apple but now it's just like a PC. What's the difference between a mac & a PC? You tell me.

Initially the operating system is what you first think of. But let's dig a little deeper.

If you will look at a Mac description you will notice there is limited choices in buying your machine, which many people see as a short coming, But you know that Apple does this on purpose, when that machine goes through a final test, they know that the OS plays real nice with the hardware they put in their machines. As a user this means your computer will work better and if there is a problem it is easier to diagnose and fix. Apple will have the parts you need to fix your machine.

You often hear people say that Apple is not compatible with all the hardware out there, then you see tons of questions about installation problems with hardware on Windows machines. I wonder why.

I had a windows machine (dell) before my apple. Every single piece of hardware I ran on the dell is in use on my Mac. I was surfing on the net using my existing wireless within 5 minutes of getting my Mac. I had no hardware problems at all.

I love my Mac, I love the service Apple gives me. Unless major changes, I can't ever see myself getting a Windows machine.

Get a Mac. you is definitely no longer upset. computing device's are many times crap computers. I really have had my computing device for decrease than 2 a million/2 years and it really is already having a ton of complications, keys are falling off it, the fan is loud, and so on.. i will not arise with the money for a Mac at present, so I really might want to settle for this piece of garbage. Mac's are extra perfect computers common and could very last you years. Their almost indestructible. For the quantity of $ you've, you need to purchase the inexpensive MacBook. bypass for it!! they say once you bypass Mac, you by no skill bypass decrease back!! I really have already vowed to myself my next computing device is going to be a Mac. trust me, If I had the money for a MacBook, i'd throw this piece of crap computing device out the window and bypass purchase a Mac. I also opt to operate that abode windows is garbage. Mine is continually so slow, and at the same time as it comes pre put in it leaves you with a gaggle of unnecessary "fluff" (as I call it). abode windows is weak to too many viruses and malware. Mac has their own video games. Too me, it really is only no longer nicely worth it to apply a computing device. If i am going to spend the money, i'd particularly get some thing good which will very last me a lengthy time period.

all the people saying OS are giving you the wrong answer. Microsoft basically ripped off macOS for windows, so it's a similarity, not a difference.

the real difference used to be the processor. Apples always used Motorola chips, while PC's used Intel or intel-clone chips. However, new macs currently use Intel chips.

In my experience, the major difference between the two is price. PC prices are always dropping, while Mac prices are always higher for the same performance benchmarks.

Macintosh computers are "more secure"from viruses (personally I think that the 8% or less market share is the true reason) and are more artistacally oreiented(but few games run on them), and a pc are better at upgrading, are cheaper, can be more powerful, and can get viruses(i'd invest in an anit virus and a anti spyware program). MAcs have a small market share mainly because the pc was released before the mac...kinda like VHS and BETA.

The operating system is the biggest difference. It is why a PC is more likely to get a virus.

Quality. Macs are generally better built, especially the OS, which is more secure and easier to use and maintain.
