Emo is a genre of music. ti also stands for emotional. it now has its own fashion trend. In the past years it has been over looked and now you have half the teenage population runnign around callign themselves emo. its a style that supposed emo people dress in. If you wnat others opinons visit---- urbandictonary.com i also read a very intersting book on the subject i cant quite remember the name..but you can find it in almost all librarys

"emo" is short for emotional. Like for example saying some of the "punk" music these days is emo cause they have music about some girl dumping them. It's just another way to label things.

Wikipedia explains it well. It was basically a type of music/subculture that's now in the mainstream. The meaning has changed over the years. When I was in high school over 10 years ago, we used the 80s and 90s definition of the word but nobody outside the underground music scene knew what we were talking about.

emo=emotional. usually people fall into this category from the ages of 13-20(ish), and they usually enjoy really artsy things like poerty and photography. everything in their lives has a certain "deeper meaning", even stupid things. they usually wear their hair in their faces and the girls (and sometimes the guys too) wear heavy dark eyeliner. they also listen to crappy music and cry to it. and they wear really tight pants. and try really hard to be the stereotypical emo kid. they go to crappy local shows a lot.

join the club. i have a friend that goes to church with me thats emo but he want tell me what it means. plus i kno that it doesnt have n e thing to do with Jesus bcuz like i said he goes to church!! if i figure it out ill pass it along to u!!
