I don't see why not. I never changed my name at all. I still go by my ex husbands name. If you use your maiden name, you should go to the social security office and change it to your maiden name after the divorce is final.

You can use whatever you want for your return address - even Santa Claus. Just remember that if the recipient doesn't recognize the name, they may toss the letter. Check your state law on how to get your maiden name back - in some states you can simply start using it again, in others you might need to ask for it to be restored as part of the divorce - but you should be able to start using again even before the divorce is final

I don't think you should, until the divorce if final. Once you have your final divorce papers, then you can officially go to change everything back to your maiden name, but if it's only personal letters to friends or family, then I think it's okay.

Only to people that know you are getting a divorce or unless there are children with the same name involved. It is definately OK for a return address with a note to available guys.

you are still jane smith and you have to request your name be changed back in the divorce. if you forget to put that in the decree you will have to buy your name back with a legal name change. at least that is how it is in texas

I don't think it would matter. They look at the address most of the time, not the name. You can't get into trouble for it.
