Should be a capital offence; I mean come on; recklessly and deliberately opening Christmas presents? What ever next.

My granny (an American lady) once called the cops because she thought there were UFOs....it was late at night and she wast tired so I don't think she was exactly right in the head (which, she isn't really sane to begin with)....it turned out to be the box on the telephone poll was sparking. Everybody in town seemed to know about it the next day (we do live in a very small town)..it was hilarious.
So, yes..I do believe it and maybe she is nuts.

It's true and it wasn't just about him opening presents. Apparently this teenager has a history of bouts with the law and since the presents in question were expensive and not his, his mother called the cops. A teenager out of control--something had to be done before he graduated to bigger crimes

Yes, strangely, it's true. He was arrested and charged with larceny, if you can believe it for opening his gameboy. The mother claimed to officers that she wanted her point to be made because he had been doing things "like this" for awhile now. I don't know that I agree with it but I also don't know the child or the mother or what kind of troublemaker he may be. She may have prevented him from a life of crime by teaching him this lesson. More children should be treated like this and our country may not be in the condition it is.

yes, read about this yesterday and it was his nintendo game system with games. he is 13 years old and she said he is almost getting ready to be expelled from school, he is cutting classes, stealing, lying, getting into all kinds of trouble and has problems with authority so when she told him to NOT open the gift, and he did so anyway, that is when she called the police and they arrested him for petty larceny and some other charge and he will have to face the courts.

Yeah, I saw that today. It was in South Carolina. They said it was petty larceny because he opened and took the Nintendo Game Boy Advance.
