the 'found new hardware wizard' keeps asking for an installation disk, but the usb drives were already installed and the mouse is plug and play. this happened once before and i didnt need any disks. what do i do?

Assuming you re-installed your Windows, I think you need to install your motherboard drivers (use the driver CD coming with your motherboard) as the next step.

Since your USB mouse runs off of the USB root hub you'll need to make sure you have the correct chipset drivers installed. If you have an Intel chipset try getting the drivers from www.intel.com.

try going to device manager and uninstalling all ur usb ... then at the top, scan for hardware changes and see if it will work after that ...

Go to the microsoft website and use the update utility to make sure that all of your drivers have been updated.
