In school I was taught that the only time you could not get pregnant was when you were actually on your menstral cycle. Any other time it could happen. When you're fertile/ovulating, your chances are greater. Good luck!

You can get pregnant right before, during, and after ovulation. That is why they give you the 5 day time frame. Good luck.

I also believed you couldn't get pregnant during your menstrual cycle.
Guess what you can, two out of 3 of my babies were conceived right and the begging and end of my cycle.
Needless to say the first one was quite the surprise as I was unmarried and only 18. Live and Learn. The second one didn't matter. We were trying to see if it would cancel out the period. It didn't but he was born 9 months to the day we tried for him. LOL
