my band used to play iron man, war pigs, and paranoid
but my band kind of dissipated after i cussed out the drummers wife for being a whore and trying to ruin my marriage

We should care because it is human nature. If you or I were in that position we would want someone to give damn. To do what ever we could (even if it's something small) to help out. Having sympathy is nice but to empathize is greater.
