Depends on you motor. I have a small block chevy with 10:1 compression that runs better on pump gas than 110 octane in the colder months. then for consistency I switch it to alky during the summer.

There are basically two types of racing fuel. There is high test gas that has an octane rating of 107 to 114. This is typically used in motors with higher compression than what stock motors have. The second is alcohol, it is used in motors with really high compression. There is also nitro-methane, but it is reserved for the Top Fuel class.

With out thoughly reaseaching this subject,don't even want to go there.
You're going into an area that can get REAL tricky & VERY de-
batable.
Best bet,since you've got a few yrs.to work with,talk to some of
the community out there.
Hate to deflate your balloon,but track racing can get really pricey!!!
