This is a tough question!!! Ohhhh, both are awesome!!! I am torn, I see your dilema!!! And I feel your pain. If I had to choose I would say Star Wars, it has history and action and George Lucas is a true creator. Not that Lord of the Rings is behind by much.

Episodes 3, 4, and 5 of Star Wars, and episodes 2 and 6 to a certain extent. I do like the Lord of the Rings movies, but the books are a lot better. Memnoch said Jar Jar needs shot and I do agree with that.

Lord of the Rings!! Although I used to like Star Wars alot when I was younger, I still like it though, but LOTR is the best movie in the entire world!!

It all depends on whether you're talking about movies or books. Movies it's definitely star wars, they made stupid books. If you mean books, Lord of the Rings is the way to go. I get tired of hearing how wonderful those movies were supposed to be. They sucked ***, that fat d&d playing bastard messed up the best parts of the story! They were stupid movies but the books can't be beat.

Starwars, no question. I was entranced by it ever since I saw Ep. IV in the theatre in 1977. Got to "live my dream" by working for George Lucas for 8 years -- what a blast :)

I guess I'd choose LOTR, it's beautiful, its epic, well made, crisp quality, fun - no matter how many times you digitally remasted celluloid, its still not on par
but, Ive watched them both, why would I have to pick between them - whose watching these movies more than once a year? ohh..."those people"

Hmmm...if I had to choose I'd say Lotr. But, really you can't compare them because they are two different genre's. Lotr is more fantasy, whereas Star Wars is more sci-fi'ish.
