Well since 'neo' pretty much means 'new', what is so hard about understanding that 90% don't understand it? Also you must mean 90% of younger people since it has been around since the 60's. Also it has had several different meanings throughout the years as different people and groups have used it differently as liberals and conservatives change.

It's the modern day bastardization of the once decent conservative. Supporting big buisiness, war, and a substantial lack of human rights.
Most liberals don't know what NeoCon means because of the fact that they haven't heard the term before, and that's because of grotesque media biases.

A neo-con is a supporter of big government, irresponsible fiscal policy, weak-form theocracy, and weak-form fascism. They are liberals disguising themselves as conservatives.
A paleo-con, however, has a brain and knows what conservatism should be. Basically the opposite of everything a neo-con believes.
