The answer to this is actually a little tricky. The standard belief is that 3 is the maximum, but it honestly depends on how they are done, and how the healing completed. The danger in subsequent pregnancies involving cesarean sections is that the scar tissue can rupture, and could result in death of your wife and child both. However, if you do two vertical and two horizontal, for example, I believe that you may have a higher chance of pregnancy successfully being carried to term. Again, this is only a speculation, as I know that 3 is generally the limit. The doctor, upon completion of a third c-section, can determine then if it's likely your wife would be able to carry another child to term safely.

No you can't have as many as you want. Some people may be able to have three or four and some may only be able to have one it depends on the scare tissue. If the scar tissue is too bad it will pose a difficulty when making the incision. I am a surgical tech in the OR and have seen many c-sections. Everyones body is different so there is really no way to answer that question other than it depends on how you heal. There is a woman in my SIDS group that could only have one. She was advised to not get pregnant and had her tubes tied.

Doctors do not limit the amount you can have these days unless you have medical reasons.
I have had 4 c-sections and my doctor wants to know when I want to have another baby. When I asked he said he will deliver as many as I want. The scar tissue builds up but that in itself does not pose risks. I was in no more risk with number 4, as with number 1.
Best to get proffesional advice though in each individual case. Good luck!

Scar tissue is an issue becasue that can pose a risk as it did for my second pregnancy, my uterus grew to my stomache wall becuase of the scar tissue. It does depend on personal issues. My doc recomended max 4-5

I heard the average is 3, because of the scar tissue. But then I also heard someone on here say they had 4.

I've only had one...my sister has had two, my cousin had two. But that's how many times we've all been pregnant. I don't know of anyone in my "circle" who has had more than two but I'm sure it is possible.

i was told by a doctor that once you have a c-section you shouldn't try to have a baby naturally or your uterus will collapse. i believe that you can have as many as you want.
