i am sick of the city, i am looking for a place i can live as a hermit, or hermitess. I trust four legged critters than I do people. At least if I get killed by an animal, it would be for a reason, I will take my chances with the 4 legged critters, than the 2 legged ones.

Actually, I live in Alaska, there are still places like that here. But it does get quite cold in the winter.

The coalfields of West Virgina and Southwest Virgina are pretty quite and remote. I live in a very small town in that area and have seen some pretty remote areas. I would live out in the area further if it wasn't so hard to come to work everyday.f I were independently wealthy, I'd definitely move to the country. The wildlife and creatures and mountains are beautiful. And if yo do have to come in for groceries, people are friendly but not too curious. Also the bayous of Louisiana are great, but gotta worry about those hurricanes, But in my area, rarely, severe weather

Property in New Mexico is...pardon the pun...dirt cheap. Soon as I sell my home, I think that's the direction I'm heading. The high desert area, 25 acres with a 4 bedroom house, 2 10 stall horse barns and 4 storage polebarns for ...drumroll...under 70K.

And I understand...I'm there myself.

I went camping for I thought a couple of weeks on a lake in a national forest.I had a small camper. just me and my dog.I stayed for seven months.I loved it.you can camp in a national forest for free. your supposed to move every two weeks but no one every told me too.Pick a national forest of your choice.being near a lake is good. for taking baths and fishing and the view.. a dog is great company and will warn you if people come up.I hunted alligators. for there tails to eat.got a book at the local library about plants I could eat around the lake and woods. I ate a lot of what was around me. one time I was sitting there taking a bath and a water moccasin came up with in two feet of me and curled up on a rock. I kept bathing. Good Luck and I hope you have a Merry Christmas.

Try Alaska or Canada, Good people and beautiful country.. Plus you'd be so far from society that you would not have to interact with people if you chose not too.
