Ok, I'm pregnant...and my sex drive has changed dramatically. I'm always wanting sex and wanting to try new things while having sex. I hope you don't think I'm a freak...but I was just curious..is it okay to have anal sex?? Please explain? Me and my fiance are going nuts to know. Thanks :)

The most important thing is never to start anal sex and then switch to vaginal intercourse. That risks introducing all kinds of bacteria into your vagina, and while the cervical mucus plug and amniotic sac should protect the baby, YOU could still get an uncomfortable infection.

As for your increased sex drive, that's quite common (but still very pleasant for us guys involved!) And you're right on schedule -- sometimes, the middle three months are called "the Golden Trimester" for a number of reasons, increased sex drive included.

Bet of luck with the baby! (And tell your fiance that when your sex drive falls off after the baby is born, this is also natural, and temporary. Just try to make time to share something with him, in whatever way you're physically capable of participating, because his sex drive will NOT fall after the baby is born. And let him know that if he can spend some time caring for the baby and letting you be all by yourself for a few hours, it'll be to his benefit.)

Pregnant women actually have more sexual desire (maybe because they know they can't get pregnant? Or hormoes is more likely).

I think you can safely have anal sex, but you should check with your doctor, just to be on the safe side. If you're embarassed to ask, just say, "Are there any limitations to intercourse?"

They'll know what you're asking! If you are just too embarassed, maybe call your nurse line that should be offered thru your insurance.

It's okay.

My Dr. told me that if you take an egg and put it in a ballon full of vasoline that is about the same as a baby and very hard to hurt, unless you were shot or stabbed in the abdomen.
