The lemon tree produces a flower, which is then pollenated (most often, bees are the ones who bring the pollen from one flower to another). The pollenated flower produces the fruit, which contains seeds, which can start another tree growing.
Thus, the cycle continues.
For the record, limes are not unripened lemons. They are a completely different fruit, just like oranges.

Lemons aren't made, they grow on trees. They start out as a blossom (a little flower) which drops off of the branch leaving a tiny green lemon. The lemon grows, ripens and turns yellow.
