I had unprotected sex, and took the plan B pill 30 minutes after we did it. Which means I did it within firts 24 hours, which means that I have a 95% chance of not getting pregnant. I'm not on birth controll and I just had My period a week before we had unprotected sex. This is the 3rd day after I have taken the pill, and I still have no bleeding, however I have experienced side effects. The doctor told me that the pill should work within 24-48 hours, and as I said it is the 3rd day now and no bleeding. Does that mean that the pill didn't work and that I might be pregnant?

Within three days of the incident, Plan B works very well. Not everyone bleeds, but it is very common. It's one of the most common side effects. Your regular cycle might be messed up due to the pill. If you are so worried, buy a pregnancy test.

Actually plan b is only 85% effective, that means you have a 15% chance of being pregnant. The reason it's not as effective as regular birth control is because it does not prevent ovulation or fertalization, it (when it works) prevents implantation of an already fertailized egg. However, if the fertalized egg is too far up in the tubes and hasn't reached the uterus yet plan b does absolutely no good. Too bad your doctor didn't also tell you that in order to be certain it worked you would need to have a pregnancy test in 6-8 weeks. This is the reason plan B is NOT good for OTC because not ALL women are educated and informed about them...
