I took Plan B once..when I was raped, the doctor also recommended that I get a pregnancy test within 6-8 weeks "Just in case". Nope I wouldn't take it if it were a choice...but then I wouldn't have unprotected sex as a choice either. Plan b is at BEST only 85% effective it does NOT prevent fertilization of an egg nor does it prevent ovulation like regular birth control. It is an ABORTIFICANT and at best prevents plantation of an already fertilized egg ONCE the egg has reached the Uterus. IF the fertilized egg hasn't reached the uterus for implantation when plan b is taken it's basically "moot". It has NO effect and the female reamains very much pregnant. This is WHY Plan b should NOT be sold OTC because until women are educated about it and informed more and more pregnancies will occur along with more and more abortions.

You Should Be Good, But I Have Heard Of People Becoming Pregnant Anyway After Taking The Pill Within An Hour After Intercourse. Like It Says Its Not 100% Effective. You Should Look Into Types Of Birth Controls. Plan B Isn't Really Safe. Its Basically An Overdose Of Birth Control.

We've used it a few times. It's better than having a condom break and worrying about an unplanned or unwanted pregnancy. Honestly, it's not much different than being on the pill, except that it's just one big dose of hormones in a single whack.
Plan B is NOT the same as the abortion pill. That one I don't think is legal in the US.
The catch to Plan B is that you HAVE to take it within three days of any accidents/unprotected sex. After the 72-hour window, it will not have any effect.
Personally, I think that the Religious Right is neither Religious nor Right, and they should stop trying to legislate a woman's right to take birth control or not, and they should let women decide what to do with their organs.

Yes I would have taken it as a female up until this time in my life. I am married now and my husband would totally disapprove of it! I would maybe consider it if it happened right now, I'm not sure. I'm kinda selfish and I recognize that...I will hold myself to high standards as a parent with having some of the hardships I did growing up. I want to bring a child into the world if I am ready. That's why I try really hard to make sure I do not mess up my birth control! 27 years, still no pregnancies...thank goodness!
My brother's girlfriend took the plan B pill this summer. Made her sick, but she was starting law school this fall. If you aren't ready to be a parent, I advocate this pill more than an abortion or the RU 486 pill (pill you can take to abort an early pregnancy-procedure-free.) An acquaintance told me you have to do 2 follow up visits on that RU 486 pill.

If your refering to the morning after pill, they are pretty safe, but will not work if your already pregnant.
I think no matter if your pro choice or not you are not violating any morals by using this product as you are not aborting a fetus, you are having a period. The plan b pill just keeps any eggs from embedding in the uterus.

I've taken it and it put my mind at rest. It did cause pregnancy like symptoms and messed up my cycle for a month but over all I would say yes, if needed take it.
