Well I Have A BIG science Test Tomorrow about microscopes and naming their parts for a compound microscope and I know all the parts except for the light source. I forgot what it it called. You kno wthe things that have a lightbulb inside and has a long cord you plug into the wall so the light works, Yah well i forgot its name. I think its like Imm.... somthing. Its the light source for a microscope. Please Please help if I dont ace it ill have to take it over. :(

Sorry I was cranky lol.

The light source was built in illuminator.

It totally popped in my head when taking the test.

From what i remember...it's called the light source. The light source for compound microscopes are usually a small filament light bulb, but i have seen many that use mirrors to redirect another sourse, such as the sun. So yes, i do believe it's always just been called the light source, not everything has a really fancy name just because it is scientific.
