I bought an old condo with old 4 pin round phone jacks. How do I replace them with standard jacks.?

I bought an old condo with old 4 pin round phone jacks. How do I replace them with standard jacks that you have these days.

Go to the home depot or lows and buy a standard pone jack wall box. the wiring is still the same just hook the red, green,yellow and white wires to the screws marked for thous colors. If you want to upgrade to cat 5 wire you need to run the wire all the way to the box out side.

go to a hardware store and buy a new phone jack kit and it should have all the color codes for the wires with it. then take the old ones off, and put the new ones in. good luck.

Go to a Radio Shack and they can put you on the right procedure faster than quick. It's quite simple. When i switched mine i bought the materials from them and then asked for a demonstration. When i left the store i had confidence that i could do the job correctly and it surprised me how quick it was.

Radio shack didn't show them on their web site but I would call one near you and ask. Probably save some time.

take the old jack apart in the back and just hook the color coded wires to the new color coded jack red to red, green to green black to black and white to white. Very easy

take the old ones out, & rewire the new ones up to it
