It wouldn't be that difficult if you both talk things over and decide what belongings belongs to who, if you guys are fighting over material things you will then need to hire a lawyer. If you decide to get joint custody then someone will still have to pay for child support depending on who the child is staying with, say if the child stays with mom, father will probably then pay child support but you both will still have joint custody. Definition of JOINT CUSTODY means that you both will have the right to make decisions for your child such as where is the child going to attend school, religion, ext....If you cannot come to an agreemant on who the child will stay with, you will then have to hire a lawyer and can be real expensive. The person that is filing for the divorce can also file for alimony.... alimony only comes in to effect if your spouse cannot support his/or herself. You can always testify against that with the help of a lawyer.... I think they only take a small percentage out of your check for alimony, it just all depends on how much you make. It will only make a big difference if your very wealthy. Bottom line, a divorce can be simple and cheap if a lawyer is not needed meaning you both have to talk things over and come to an agreement on everything. Talk about how much money should be given for child support and and who will the child be staying with. To be fair it should be no more than 20% of weekly check. GOOD LUCK!!!

Getting a divorce normally there is a 30 day cool off period. Alimony normally will be granted until she remarries again once remarried Alimony stops. Child support is usally by your income. The one the child lives with gets child support. But if the child stays with you for 2 weeks then the other 2 weeks with ex there aint no support. Or if there is 2 children and one stays with you the other stays with ex there is no child support. Don't give spouse full custody though no matter what stay with joint you have more rights then Good Luck

RT, depends on what State you're in. In California, it's easy to get divorced. Just a bit of paperwork and a single court appearance...no attorneys required. Alimony (spousal support) depends on the length of the marriage and the earnings of the parties. Child support also dependent upon earnings and general background. In California the Court system offers forms. Check wiht them Probalby true in other states. If there are children, remember that whether you stay married or not, the children are forever...and you and your partner have to get along to support the kids. Most important. Don't let the children become a weapon in the divorce.

Been there and done all of that! Still going threw it. It really depends on what state that you live in per say. I live in Fl and my daughters father lives in Ky and he is the one who has to pay FULL child support and keep insurance on her even though i have my own insurace for her. As for the alimony you dont have to pay for it unless she ups and quits her job or she is under a certain amount. (what she makes per month) Like if your pay is double hers they you will have to pay some alimoney but not much. They also take in how old the child or children are and what there needs are, and what all needs paid for them. That is where alimony also come in. It dosnt matter if you have JOINT or not. The courts DONT CARE! Trust me im the mother and it dosnt matter if you get the best attorney that money can buy you will still have to pay out.

Getting a divorce is easy. However the rules for joint custody and child support will vary in each state. A simple devorce should cost about $250.00-$400.00, if both partys agree and it dose not have to be taken before a judge.

its not hard getting a divorce if you both agree to it...alot of times the divorce can take time because one or the other doesnt want it and the divorce gets ugly...
and the courts decide on alimony and custody...depending on how good of parents u are...most of the time the women get to keep the children..unless she is unfit...
but as i said..it all depends..are u divorcing on good terms? because if not...it may take a while...
also depends on how good of attorney u have

It depends on so many factors...one of them being the laws in your state. Please check into the laws and talk to a lawyer if you really want a divorce.
