I would love to tell you GMC, or any of the domestic trucks for that matter BUT- USA's auto makers decided the transmissions were lasting to long and started putting junk between the engine and differential. A GM engine will last about 5 times as long as a GM transmission! I'm on transmission #3 at 220,000 miles and it's about to give up! Engine is still cherry. From what I hear Dodge and Ford are pretty much the same. I don't know what the Toyota is all about but the V-8's sound awsome in those things.

The ford f-series has been the best selling truck for 29 continuous years.
Wanna know why? Because more people see the value in a Ford truck.
BUT....as I've often said. It all depends on what you are going to use your vehicle FOR.
Ford does not make a decent sized small truck. The ranger SUCKS. I hate it. The Dodge Dakota is much more appropriatly sized and equiped.
But the F150, F250, F350 have proven for YEARS to be the real work trucks. The new F450 will give another level of usefullness to those in need of a REAL Heavy Duty Truck

CHEVY GMC! They have proven themselves with Initial Quality Awards, Highest Customer Retention, Better Resale Value and now they offer a 5 year 100,000 mile warranty, which is the best in terms of the other automakers listed.
Dodge has a cheap interior and has the looks of a Pig.
Ford and Toyota can't get it right in terms of keeping the recalls down, they are the highest this year, and we all know ford is way up there in general (firestone anyone? Cruise Control? etc etc)
None have a long warranty (except for ford, but its only a 60,000 5 year)

chevy or GMC are the same truck, if you buy the GMC you are paying more for the same thing as the chevy just has a differen't grille and little odds and ends, but I would recommend a chevy or GMC.
