I hate Drugs even Prescription Drugs bother me.

He has to stop for himself. There's no magic pill you can give him to stop smoking marijuana. He has to realize how bad drugs are. All I can say is that marijuana is definitely a gateway drug which leads to harder drugs. My sympathy goes out to you because you are so concerned for your son who already knows that marijuana is an illegal drug even though people say it's medical.

There are worse drugs he could be experimenting with than marijuana, which isn't physically addictive like prescription pain killers and cocaine. As long is doesn't escalate to harder drugs don't worry so much.

1st put yourself in your sons position. Many people do it because they are bored or depressed, then try to keep from being in such a state. Also show him pictures of old rock stars who did drugs then he will be freaked out. But keep in mind, he's 21 and you really don't have as much control over him as you think.

All you can do now because he is an adult is not give him any support while he is doing drugs. Tough love! , or you could do an intervention if you have family or friends ready and willing to help him.

Buy him a cocaine and he will stop immediatelly with Marijuana.
