It's been confirmed that on January 30th, MTV will be airing the first of 10 episodes of their wrestling promotion Society X. It will be at 10:30 PM meaning that it will go head to head with ECW on Scifi. Stars for this promotion are Vampiro, Sean Waltman(x-pac) New Jack as well as many others. My question is what do you think about all of this?

MTV will begin airing “Wrestling Society X” on Tuesday, January 30th at 10:30 eastern and pacific. This of course means that the show will go up head-to-head with ECW on Sci Fi. MTV will air ten episodes of the show which will combine wrestling with live music performances. Bands confirmed for the series include Deftones, Good Charlotte, and New Found Glory.

The wrestling end of the show will be handled by Big Vision producer Kevin Klinerock, Vampiro, and Cody Michaels. Klinerock is a former XPW official and Vampiro will act as head writer for the project.

Wrestling talent confirmed for the project includes Ruckus, Vampiro, Sean Waltman, Jack Evans, Matt Sydal, Lizzy Valentine, Teddy Hart, The Human Tornado, Dragon's Gate stars Masato Yoshino and Genki Horiguchi, Colt Cabana, Jimmy Jacobs, Ricky Banderas, Aaron Aguilera, B-Boy and others. The series was taped in its entirety last month in Los Angeles.

They have some good names in there, Xpac, Vampiro, Aaron Aguilera (Jesus of WWE), Colt Cabana has a lot of potential, New Jack as well as a few Japanese guys who bring it in the ring.
It is going to prove interesting, however I don't have cable so I don't get to see it. I would like to see it a few times just to see how it is.

Depends on thier presentation of the show. If it looks like a bunch of guys who got together with a video camera in a barn somewhere then don't bother showing it. If they present it with some kind of continuity and originality, they might be able to pull it off. If they can get MTV to back them, they will definitely have the better resources than any of the other two feds (I am talking money and on air time).
