I have a Dell Inspiron 1150 with a 64 mb graphics card with shared memory. I'm not sure if it is built into the motherboard or not. Anyways, is there a way that I can upgrade the graphics card on it, or is my best bet upgrading the memory? Thanks.

After my initial searches, your laptop spec online lists as Intel 82855 GME which would be onboard video. This is built in and takes the 64MB of ram away from your total system memory. I would recommend upgrading the ram to a larger capacity so that the 64MB video allocation doesn't put as much drain on your ram.

According to Crucial.com, your machine probably came with 256MB or 512MB memory standard. I would upgrade the machine as close as you can get to 1.0GB (two 512MB modules). Your machine takes PC2700 DDR SODIMM Modules and has two slots. If you have two modules installed you may need to remove one (or more) to install larger modules. The extra ram will speed up everything on the machine.

There is no video upgrade for Inspiron 1150. The video is part of the chipset on the mainboard. GUess your only choice is to buy a new laptop or upgrade something else (i.e. RAM) to better your laptop

I've got a Dell Inspiron 5100 and I'm pretty sure that there is no way to change the graphics card.

You can get it upgraded if your willing to pay the cost, my labtops in getting a shock damage repair, speed boost, graphics upgrade, sound card upgrade, memory back up, extra memory.

Total Cost: $670.81

The sound card alone is about $200.00 of that..

Dell Laptops aren't made for graphics. Dell ANYTHING for that matter isn't made for graphics. Better switch to a gaming machine if that's what you're in it for.
