I once saw plans for a room divider "curtain" made from the CD's. They were held together with the type of ring that a loose leaf notebook uses. I am not sure how the holes were drilled at the top and bottom of each CD.

my husband uses them for coasters around the computer. Actually we don't get them that often anymore, but I have also heard of people giving them to their kids to use as targets with pellet guns. A friend of mind used some of them to make a hanging decoration, kind of like a mobile I guess. She stuck 2 of them label sides facing in tied them with string and hung them from the ceiling over top of her fiber optic lamp. It looks pretty in the dark.

I put them in my recycle bin each week. I have seen a few craft "ideas", but they were quite unusual. One person made a tree trunk ornament out of gluing the CDs together in an offsetting sort of way.

Don't know if anyone's mentioned this yet, but they can be hung on trees outdoors as large "ornaments."

They can also be decorated in various ways... even warmed then cut into pieces or formed into other shapes like bowls. Polymer clayers even cover them with polymer clay.

Check out these pages for lots of possibilities for pre-recorded CD's (blank CD's won't work for some of the things):

Make a toy train, CD's would be the wheels. That would make some child very happy on Christmas.

coasters are common but my favourite is wall art. srting them together so they they lie flat and hand on the wall with the non printed side showing. it has the added bonus of reflecting light back in to the room making the room seem brighter.

well, there was that one interent commercial where a couple made an art piece out of it - they made a big fish and put it on the wall.

I think the commercial had snoop dogg.
