If you have maple sap on your car you can wait for it to harden and carefully scrape it with your fingernail. If it is syrup soapy hot water will do the trick with a soft cloth.May still require a bit of scraping with your nails(fingers not steel). There is also a product called bug/tar remover wich works very well on tree sap.Available at any autoparts store.

NO, NO, NO, NO !
NO chemicals on the car,
To remove maple syrup all you need is warm/hot water from the tap and a soft thick towel. First just hose it off and wipe clean. If the syrup dried on the finish, soak the towel in hot water and place it over the dried syrup, this will soften it so it can be removed. this may take several minutes keep the towel very moist by adding hot water from the tap. USE ANOTHER TOWEL TO WIPE WITH AS SOME OF THE SYRUP MAY STILL BE HARD OR GRITTY REPEAT IF NECESSARY...

Anything short of water can stain a finish if left long enough ( remember this next time a bird graces your car). But maple syrup should come off easily with warm water and soap.. (can't say I have had the experience tho..)

bottom line.. do it promptly to minimize staining.

maple surup will not damage your paint, their is not any acid so it can not eat away at the clear coat. i do recemmend getting it off asap. if soap and water does not work, try a paint solvent. do not use PAINT THINNER!!! if you have an autobody supply store near you, go there ask for speedy 500, it works the best. i worked in the car business for around 5 years, so u can trust my knowledge.

No paint damage. It is similar to having someone pour a cola on your car. Warm water and soap will take it off.
