Andrew Jackson, famous for hunting bears and fighting indians, swept the south and west in the election of 1828. Why do you think the rugged jackson had such appeal in these regions? Why do you think he didn't carry any states in the northwest?

Jackson was for removal of the Indians. This was very something the south wanted. The north had already removed the Indians in the north so they didn't think it was a big deal and had other agenda's.

For one, he was involved in the War of 1812 and he won a small war. He use this to bump up his popularilty. Also he was seen as a leader of the common man, or you know average joe.
