definately SPONGEBOB! muahaha! i can be abit biased here, mainly cause i am a spongebob fan and i hardly ever watch any rugrats episodes...one reason to why spongebob is a fantastic cartoon character in my opinion is mainly because EVERY single episodes never fails to pull out laughs from me and it is really an enjoyable and entertaining cartoon! i can never get sick of it, even though nickelodeon always airs the same episodes over and over again. i am still a fan, and always will be! hehe! hope you share the same opinion as me...cheers to all spongebob fans!

I absolutely LOVE the original Rugrats cartoon.
I have taken care of children for years and this program really hits the nail on the head so to speak.

first of all, neither one of those cartoons are "old school". how about Bugs Bunny or Daffy Duck or Popeye or go back even further to the black and white Mickey Mouse and early Walt Disney?
But....Spongebob rules! :)
