It's actually in Western Europe, West of every other European country except Portugal, Spain and Ireland.

Northern Europe generally refers to the Nordic countries, Balkan states, Low Countries and UK and Ireland.

Traditionally France is classed as Western Europe - though the South of France is really the Mediterranean and therefore Southern Europe.

As a french, i would say that France is classed in western Europe. North europe is more Scandinavia and Great Britain.

More like Western Europe. But it is North of Spain.

it is normally included as Western Europe.

However, it is also quite a way South. The Med coast of France faces Africa.
