Cherries, strawberries, and Blueberries are good for gout.
Celery Seed Extract 450 mg 2-3 times a day, or Nettle Root 250 mg 3 times daily are recommended. 30C homeopathic Colchicum every 2 waking hours for 2 days is another remedy. See Prescription For Natural Cures by
Balch and Stengler for a complete discussion and other suggestions. Good Luck!

Gout is not a disease that is infectious or something that needs to be "kept away".. Your best 'home remedy' is to work on self discipline, educate yourself about healthy lifestyle, and surround yourself with people who do the same. Trying to "prevent a disorder" (especially one that the body accepts from your own volition/choices) as though its 'out of your control' is the wrong approach, especially when looking at such a phenomena from the 'alternative medicine' viewpoing/category. You could start reading/educating yourself today and read for the next few years and never know enough. But know this- you have to eventually Take Responsibility for 'impurifying' your Own Body- which, at the end of the day, is the ultimate reason for "dis-ease".. toxin build-up. Only You control what you put in your body, and how you treat it (if you are an adult), unless you live in an unfortunate environment (and I don't think gout is usually associated with environmental pollution for example). So, consider starting today to change your habits by education, awareness, common sense, and support systems available everywhere now.

You probably know that dietary change - less red meat, wine, acidic vegetables - will be helpful in the build-up of uric acid in the system.
Nevertheless, a good prophylactic would be a homeopathic tissue salt, Natrum Phosphoricum in a 6X potency. Unless you are suffering from gout now, take 1-2 tablets AM and PM for 5 days, take 2 days off and repeat. This will help balance your body's acidity.
If you begin to experience gout take Arnica 30C 5X a day for 3-4 days.

Go to your library. Check out 'PDR for Herbal Medicines' by Thomson publishers. You will not believe the information regarding herbal medicines. There is a section where you can look up a problem, say gout, and they list the herbal medicines that may be successful. It is enormously useful. But you might want to cut down on meat in your diet, especially liver. Good luck.

Drinking 2 - 3 quarts of water a day will help. Eating cherries will help fend off a gout attack. Do not drink alcohol. I take allorpurinol ( prescription ) daily and it has stopped all gout attacks.

something you could take (if you can find it) is a product called
AC-Carbamide, the company that carries it is Standard Process. Or you can try Nutri-west's Arthro-G. The only thing is that you have find a dr. that carries it. or you could try a natural health store.
