Would companies be faster to hire a Harvard or Ivy League graduate than they would elsewhere?

It matters a lot. Companies hire more Ivy League grads, and pay them more.
However, if you have solid grades, and lots of research and professional experience in your field, you will still be very competitive, even if your school was not that great.

Yes they would. It only matters at the top of the food chain. In normal jobs at normal companies, any grad school is ok, but if you want to play with the big boys, Ivy is better.

Not necessarily. The interview and the qualifications matter most. It's when you get to needing a tie breaker, than the rep of the school weighs in. It doesn't help as much as those schools would have you believe.

Most definately. While many companies will not give much weight to where you got your bachelor's degree, they give a lot of weight to where you get your masters.
