It bounces off your ear drum and bounces around the inner ear a few more times before leaving the ear.
Finally as it gets close to the light at the end of tunnel, it pours out into the environment around you where it is then stepped on, killed, and extinguished never to heard again because the people around you are actually sheeple, and not people at all. All they know is how to follow the examples that are left by those before them and therefore they are unable to make up their own minds about what and who to listen to.
Blast that music loud!! Don't let it fall to the ground! It's all up to you! Don't let it fall upon deaf ears! Shout it out!..... umm.. and so, as I was saying.....
Music goes out into the air around you after you've listened to it.

Music on the one hand gets registered by the brain, sound on the other hand makes the little bones in your ear move and when the wave is gone and the sound pressure is atmosphere level again, the movements stop and the sound is gone.

What a Philosophical question! I would say it goes into your memory, as that is what deals with things past. St. Augustine in his "Confessions" book deals with measuring the "Times" issue... quite an in-depth, thought-stimulating book. Very good!
