Final Fantasy XII, mainly because of the massive amounts of items, spells, and attacks. The way you arrange it on the board is almost ingenious. The battle system is also eyecatching, because you are allowed to walk or run around while fighting, which makes it much more strategic. Enemies actually pop out when you're just walking along, which makes the game much more fun.

for the ps2 only? guess we'll have to assume you mean any of the games that can be played on the ps2

ok. that means that it involves EVERY final fantasy game, except III, Tactics advance, and crystal chronicles.

the best of I, II, IV, V, VI, VII, T, VIII, IX, X, X-2, XI, and X-2...

yea, i'll stick with IV

IV has a great story, detailing the inner battle of good VS evil, as well as an outer battle of saving the world

each of the characters is their own person, and cannot learn the abilities of the others

each of the characters not only has their own story, but the game actually tells you the reasons for them joining your fight against the ultimate enemy of the game

The newest one, Final Fantasy XII, is by far the best storyline wise and battle system wise. Though other people might argue with the battle system comment if you have never played an MMO before. FFXII is better if you like or have played MMO games and X-2 is better if you like the older FF battle systems (Turn based).

the one that squre says is their favorite is VII. while its graphics are pale compared to the others it has a great storyline, lots of side quests, and it has the simplist magic setup of all. and its for the playstation.
