There is no crankshaft pickup for a tachometer in your DRZ's engine, however if you really want one, you can install an aftermarket tachometer like this http://www.sendec.com/Maintenance+and+Meter+Products/806-10x+Tachometer-Hour+Meter/default.aspx
that reads from the spark plug.

mi step dad has the 06 model and it doesnt as well but all u need to buy is a rev box that suite ur model but it doesnt hav numbers they are just a line of colours from green to red about 50-60 buks

Not mine, and its a blast to ride. Stay away from sand and mud the street legal wheels just don't cut it.
