All the other shows begin a new season in September and end in May. Why January for American Idle?

maybe because they start auditions for the new season in august. thn they have to go to hollwood, and select the top 20. the auditioning takes at least seven weeks, because they spend a week in each of the seven cities. the hollywood auditions take a while, too.it is also a reality show, and i think it would be boring if they ran from september to may.

Do you mean American Idol? They probably start in january to get morere viewers...people that want to see something new int the middle of the "season."

For ratings, Lez. In the spring, there are two ratings periods, versus only one in the fall. (February and May)
