You more than likely will get rid of the live ones but the nits that are on the hair follicle of the pubic hair will eventually hatch out and you will have the same problem again. I suggest using NIX from any pharmacy or and off brand they all work the same for my children when they got head lice

Quick 'n' easy way to get rid of crabs: strip down, sit on toliet, and pour rubbing alcohol over the infected area. Not very pleasant, but effective.

No. Go to the drugstore--buy RID--medicine for lice. Make sure on the package that the comb inside can be used for pubic hair.

You also need to buy lice spray and spray it in your house, your car, and don't forget your carpets (no pun intended).

You need to wash all of the clothes you wore in hot water if the fabric can handle it. You can try warm or cold for the others. Make sure you dry them in the dryer thoroughly on the hottest setting you can.

You want to kill the lice and their eggs throughout your living quarters and on clothes--spray, hot water, and hot dryer will take care of that after you use the RID.

Q: What are crabs? How do I get them?

The number one way to get crabs is from sexual contact. Therefore, sexual partners should be treated simultaneously to avoid re-infestation. The lice are very small and look like brown or grey dots on the skin. Pubic lice usually cause intense itching and lay small white eggs on the hair shaft, generally close to the skin surface. In hairy individuals, pubic lice may be present on the short hairs of the thighs and trunk, underarms, and occasionally on the beard or mustache.

It’s possible to get crabs from infected bedding, towels and clothes. Although highly unlikely, it is theoretically possible to get crabs from a toilet seat.

Crabs are equal opportunity pests found in the genital area of men and women.

Q: How do I know if I have crabs?

The most common symptom of pubic lice is extreme itching in the genital area.

Pubic lice are slightly larger than sesame seeds and resemble miniature crabs.

They can be found by closely examining the genital area under a bright light.

Q: How do I get rid of crabs?

Treat crabs by using pyrethrum-based lice shampoo with piperonyl butoxide. Follow directions carefully. RID® is the leading over-the-counter treatment indicated to treat crabs.

You must treat pubic lice in a manner similar to that used for head lice. It is important to treat the infected area thoroughly, which will include anal hairs and the thigh area. Lice will spread to these surrounding areas, so complete treatment is necessary. We understand that there will be increased difficulty in treating this area and if possible, recommend that someone assist you. It is also a good idea to treat sexual partners to reduce the chance of re-infestation.

Apply RID® Lice Killing Shampoo to DRY HAIR only, until area is thoroughly wet, being careful not to allow the product to come in direct contact or penetrate mucus membranes. Use caution to apply it to the skin and hair, especially near the anus or vaginal openings to avoid irritation or burning.

After completing application, allow product to remain for 10 minutes but no longer.

Add sufficient warm water to form lather. Rinse thoroughly.

A fine-toothed comb or a special lice/nit-removing comb like the patented RID® comb (included) can be used to help remove lice, eggs, and nits from hair. You may need to use a mirror to ensure that all hair has been combed.

Clean infested area thoroughly. Be sure to wash underwear, clothes, bedding and towels in hot water and dry in high heat for 20 minutes to prevent the spread of crabs. A second treatment must be done in 10 days to kill any newly hatched lice.
