It's a friend to central america. The answer is pretty simple, how many wars are americans figting in mexico or nigoragwa right now? Not too many as far as i can recall. The last time i can remember the US sending military into central america for anything like that was to help the civilian population of nicorwagwa (don't spell it like that, that spelling is wrong). As far as i know the only thing americans don't like about central american countries is cuba, but that's because you're communistphobic.

Sounds like a trick question, as it could be either way depending on your political leanings.
The US has tried to keep Central America free of both Communism and dictators. Not always sucessfully, as in the case of El Salvador, around which the Iran-Contra affair occurred, but more so as in Operation Just Cause, which brought down drug-dealing Panamanian dictator Manuel Noriega.

A question like that does NOT have a yes/no answer. Of course, public schools are TERRIBLE at teaching social studies, and probably have a very neat answer for you.
Researching this question will make you informed and knowledgable about the workings of governments, politics, economics, anthropology, psychology, sociology, ethics, and people in general. However, it won't tell you which answer to circle on your exam. The only place you can look is your textbook.
